The sweet memories on sweet December

Today is the first day of the month of December and when I was young, I was told by a pastor that we have to make the best voice and greet each other "Sweet December" so that our voice will be sweet! And it is also observed as World AIDS Day to show support to people living with HIV and to commemorate those who have died.  The first WAD was held in 1988. Memories are not always sweet.  But it is always good to remember the sweet memories. Dad - I miss you.  You have brought me up to be what I am today and since you left me, you have been missed always.  But thank you so much for your guidance, no matter what I am today, you have made me a man of love, a man of respect and I am always thankful for that.  I consider myself strong but sometimes I have to cry when I feel so heavy and I wish you were with me to comfort me.  And I know you do because you told me to get closer to God as you could not be with us all the time but God is.  You are the most...

A trip to Zelpaga in hot April

Image
My country, Myanmar has a very unique and long tradition of celebrating its new year!  Strange to say that the new year always falls in April and the new year day exactly is 17 April.  Before the beginning of the year from 12 April to 16 April, for four days, Thingyan festival or the water festival is celebrated in the belief that the stains or misfortune of the year is washed away and a person starts brand-new in the coming year.  Man! Thingyan was supposed to be celebrated in a gentle way but then it changed year after year.  People used to sprinkle water in the past gently.  With the new technology and resources available, new sprinkling equipment such as pressured pump and water balloons replaced the gentleness of the festival.  It turned a little volatile each year.  And with a new year coming, Thingyan always makes me realized I am getting a year older, not necessarily on my birthday! This year 2013 is very hot!  Not only the equipment...

Nothing or no one can break this attachment

Whenever I hear your voice, I feel like YOU are a part of my life.  Though I have been in another world, I am still missing the world we created, the garden we grew, the streets we walked, the troubles we came across and of course the love we shared. I always wanted a family; a family in my own way in which two persons love each other and understand each other.  I had had such a family with YOU.  I had felt the love and understanding with YOU.  I tasted the fruit of faithfulness which I never thought of in saying a family of my own but with YOU, you reminded me of that family value. I was so wrong to have kept my pride.  I was so wrong to have a nice brain.  I was so wrong to have left YOU.  But I was so right to have let YOU walked on your own.  I was so right to have given YOU chances.  I was so right to have loved YOU the way I did. I did have a world of passion with YOU.  I did have someone who loved and cared for me.  I did hav...

D's Place - Consultancy Services in Myanmar

Image
With a friend of mine, we have set-up a consultancy group called D's Place consultancy services in Yangon since I came back home. The original idea was to have a coffee shop!  Then it is not practical.  We realised that our country needs skill labour for foreign investments than a coffee shop. We spent years building up our capacity, working for marginalized communities and why couldn't we share them with our fellows citizens. There - here we go! Please find us on facebook.   www.facebook.com/thedplace or follow us on twitter  @thedplace Do not hesitate to contact us at info@thedplace.com if you want to know more about us.
